Climate change is nature's way of telling us to change.
The use of fossil fuel energy to power our modern lifestyles has brought us great comfort and convenience. It has also brought us two great problems that threaten those lifestyles and, indeed, humanity's future on earth:

Addiction to oil, gas, and other limited natural resources that will soon be in rapid and permanent decline, a condition often referred to as "peak oil", but more accurately termed "peak everything".

Various environmental problems, including destructive climate change resulting from the greenhouse gases produced by burning of fossil fuels and commonly known as "global warming".
Together, these problems pose a great threat to human civilization. Today, we stand at a turning point in human history and have serious choices to make. Our best scientists tell us that we face disastrous consequences if we go on with "business as usual". But, they also tell us that we have a short time to act quickly and forcefully, thereby averting the worst outcomes and securing a safe, prosperous, and livable world for ourselves and future generations.
We can do this, but the time is now and there is no time to waste. We must summon the courage and will to change our personal practices and public policy. The movement toward sustainability will be the most powerful in the history of human civilization. But we can only be successful if we act together. United GREEN is part of that movement and we hope you will join us in making our world a better and more sustainable place.
