The Green Economy:
Sustainable Economic Solutions for San Diego

 

The Green Economy is produced by United GREEN in conjunction with UC San Diego and will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at UCSD’s Institute of the Americas located at 10111 N. Torrey Pines Rd. La Jolla, Ca. 92037.  Sessions begin at 9:00 am and run until 9:45 pm.  For more information and registration, visit www.unitedgreen.org. Individual tickets are $60, Exhibit Booths are $300, and sponsorships are $1,000 and up.  The event will be filmed and used as a cornerstone to build on for future events presenting “real solutions for a sustainable San Diego.”


“The Green Economy” will feature expert presentations and panel discussions by members of academia and business, as well as public officials, on a wide range of green solutions to local sustainable economic, business, and career issues.  The day will include: A presentation and critique of “A Green Economic Stimulus Plan for San Diego,” The Latest Thinking in Green Economics, Green Business Models and Practices, Green Career Trends and Job Opportunities as well as seminars on Green Jobs for All including the Deaf and Disabled, a Bike Sharing Plan, and The Green Economy and Urban Development in addition to a special presentation by UCSD Professor, Carol Padden, on the “Future of Sign Languages.”
