10:45am – 11:00am– Becoming renewable energy self-sufficient in the San Diego/Tijuana Region presentation by Dr. Heather Honea; Eco-Economist, San Diego State University.

11:00am   – 12:30am- Becoming renewable energy self-sufficient panel discussion and town hall symposium: Audience questions and comments to panel and panel responses.

2:00pm – 3:15pm–  Becoming water self-sufficient panel discussion and town hall symposium:  Audience questions and comments to panel and panel responses.

9:05am -9:50am- Morgan Pitts of American University on the “the 30,000 foot view,” addressing how all areas of a region must work together, culturally, economically, and environmentally.  Pitts has presented to the European Parliament in Brussels, is currently providing research support for the NRDC’s green building team in Beijing and conducting research for the United Nations University for Peace.9:45am – 10:30am- Sustainability presentation.

10:30am-10:45am – Break

10:45am – 11:00am- Becoming food self-sufficient presentation by Jim Bell.

11:00am– 12:30pm- Becoming food self-sufficient panel discussion and town hall symposium: Audience questions and comments to panel and panel responses.

1:30pm – 2:00 - Richard Anthony on Zero Waste.

2:00 – 2:30 Steve Wright on field research in the rainforests of Malaysia and how it fueled his will to co-create 4Walls International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing bio-shelter, clean water harvesting, thermoregulation, access to food to people living in the canyons of Tijuana, just south of the San Diego, U.S. border.

2:30 – 2:45 Break

2:45 – 4:00 – Plenary Panel, bringing it all together.

4:00 – 4:20 – Award ceremonies: Green Business and student projects.

4:20 – 4:45 Closing remarks

4:45 – 5:00 Thank you from Dr. Mark Hanson, President, Heartland Coalition.
